Mort Rainey, un écrivain frappé du syndrome de la page blanche, est harcelé par un dangereux psychopathe. Ce dernier l'accuse d'avoir plagié son histoire et demande réparation. Malgré les efforts de Rainey pour le calmer, l'individu devient de plus en plus vindicatif.
