会社を経営するリチャード（ピアース・ブロスナン）は、ある企業の誘いで会社をバイアウトしていたが、定年を迎える日にそれが詐欺だったことが判明。会社は倒産に見舞われ、退職金や年金も手にできないことに。一文無しになったリチャードは元妻ケイト（エマ・トンプソン）と共に、悪徳企業の存在を突き止め、お金を取り戻そうとするが……。
